Art Education graduates are well-prepared for teaching careers, thanks to the extensive classroom experience they receive throughout the program. With courses from both the School of Education and Department of Art, students can confidently foster a dynamic environment of learning and creativity.
Art Education students receive a solid foundation in strong technical skills, expanding creative and critical thinking, enhancing aesthetic knowledge, and practical experiences both on and off campus. Students in this program complete the Department of Art studio core curriculum, the School of Education requirements, the General Education requirements, plus Art History courses and supervised student teaching. Practical experiences are invaluable to students starting an art career. All Art Education majors start internships/placements early in their academic process.
